You can conduct several searches on your own without requesting a full background check. Other than cases at the courthouse, the department of corrections offers public viewing of inmates by name and will show the photo, description, offenses, release date, length of sentence, and more. Online periodicals make it easier to look up offenders in a particular area. There are wanted lists and warrant searches that can be found online. Some of it has to do with luck, as technology is still being implemented but has not fully caught up.
